Citizens Against Government Waste tallys wasteful government expenditures in the following areas:

Legislative
Branch
Military
Construction
Transportation
Treasury,
Postal, and General Govt
Veterans,
Housing, & Indep. Agencies
How much smaller would "the government" be if we stripped it of waste? How much more of your paycheck would you have to use as you believe God wants you to use it if "the government" didn't take it and waste it? Which of these "government services" could be provided more efficiently by captalism -- such as delivering your letters or educating (not just warehousing) your children?
Even if you believed these expenditures funded projects which made valuable contributions to American society, these revenues should not be raised by threatening taxpayers with jail sentences, but should be raised voluntarily by the businesses that benefit from these government expenditures. Example: Dairies perform a useful function by producing milk. This does not mean that the government should take money by force from people who are lactose-intolerant in order to breed more cows or build more milking equipment. Not the government's job.
If we followed the Constitution strictly, more than 90% of the present government would be cut. If we followed the principle of "Liberty Under God" consistently, the rest would be cut.
